Tooling System L-Series

Specially designed for honing of high-precision bores in a diameter range of 3-15 mm

Tooling System L Series

Standardized precision

The newly developed single-stone L-series tooling system is designed for the honing of high-precision bores with a diameter range of 3–15 mm. A special feature is the re-structured modular system, which is characterized by the use of standardized components.

Your benefits

In addition to the technical and application-related advantages, the modular structure of the tooling system allows ideal delivery times both for new tools and tooling rework. A high degree of standardization ensures remarkable reductions of production costs – an additional customer benefit with respect to economy within the application.

Technical highlights

The tool joint and base are assembled by means of “thermal shrinkage”. This joint is characterized by high econcentric accuracy (≤ 5 μm) and the transfer of high torques and axial forces. Additional quality features are high-precision guiding of the expansion cone in the tool body as well as optional internal coolant supply. These technical features ensure that machining tasks meet the quality requirements for shape and dimensional tolerances < 1 μm.

Typical areas of application

Injection pump components, control valves as well as pneumatic and hydraulic components are common applications for the newly developed L-series.

Tooling Rework

Continuous professional tooling rework increases the life cycle of your honing tools and guarantees optimal process reliability.
Reduce your tooling costs by preventive maintenance and profit from our experience.

Whether Gehring or third party - we will rework your honing tools back to optimal condition. Your benefits are obvious.

Abrasives

The Diato honing stones which are also a product of the Gehring Group, have abrasives made from synthetic diamond or cubic boron nitride (cBN). These abrasive crystals are embedded in a hard metallic matrix. The grit size is then responsible for the stock removal of the material.
