My Story
EDUCATION IN PROFESSIONAL CAREER?
The development of honing processes has always been an interesting challenge for me. While I was studying, I wrote my diploma thesis "Determination of the optimal honing length for different drilling" at Gehring. Afterwards, I was able to go directly to Gehring and I have since then been on the road in various functions in the "Honing world".
HOW TO GET TO GEHRING?
My teacher Prof. Rudi Gehring made contact with Gehring during my time at Ulm University of Applied Sciences. I was impressed by the "Gehring" company and was able to work on my topic as a successful graduate student.
WHAT ARE MY FUNCTIONS AT GEHRING?
As the head of technology development and patents with my team, I am responsible for continuously developing our honing processes and adapting them to current market requirements. It is my concern to present our innovative ideas to the public. In lectures at conferences and symposia, in numerous publications of specialist articles or even in a book publication, I was able to impart hontechnology to the specialist publication in different ways. In addition to my work at Gehring, I am an apprentice lecturer with the lecture "Introduction to Tribology" at HS Esslingen, and I try to convince future colleagues for our topics.
WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT GEHRING?
Gehring is a medium-sized company with short decision-making processes. Everyone is more responsible to us than in a large company and can be more successful with his own ideas. The freedom to implement these ideas responsibly motivates me again and again.
WHY WOULD I WORK WITH GEHRING?
As a technologist, you are perceived not only in your own company, but also from the outside. Since the topic of "honing" is a niche, the number of experts around the world is manageable and everyone knows each other. Our development team is outstanding in several respects. Our work is characterized by a high degree of competence, a reliable team spirit and a lot of youthful enthusiasm, as I have not always experienced in my professional activities.
