From 12-17 September 2016, Gehring is represented at the International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago. After an exciting week, Gehring looks back to three interesting events in the context of the anniversary celebrations. On Wednesday, we were happy to welcome national and international agents to presentations, debates and social networking. On Thursday, customers from all over the world followed our invitation to celebrate 90 years of innovation at our site. With both these events, we very much enjoyed providing a platform for best-practice exchange about innovations, technologies and trends.

From now on the website of Gehring shines in new splendor. The honing expert presents to our customers itselfs now modern, informative and customer-oriented. Besides the new design, the site has also gained in functionality and clarity.

The Aachen Colloquium Automobile and Engine Technology has become the largest European congress in this topic. With about 64 international exhibitors this year, visitors have the chance to communicate from October 5. – 7. about current themes like development or automotive engineering. As the leading manufacturer in the area of honing technology, Gehrting will be present at Booth 35.

This year, under the slogan "Let's build the future" the EMO will again attract numerous trade professionals to Milan. At this leading international trade fair for machine tools and metalworking which takes place from the 5-10 October, companies will take over about 110,000 square meters of exhibition space to show their innovative products and machine tools. As the leading manufacturer in the area of honing technology, Gehring will be present at Hall 14, Booth M 14.

As a result of new quality criterion demands, the honing process is developed continuously. Thus, numerous process variables such as Form Honing, Plateau Honing, Ribhoning, or Helical Slide Honing emerged.

The goal of position honing is to shorten the process chain of cylinder block production without a loss to the end quality. Position honing combines fine boring and honing into one step.

Increasing component performance requires additonal quality improvements and the implementation of new quality parameters such as residual compressive stress. It further requires a continous adaption of manufacturing technology.
